Daylight Time Fix

How to fix the Daylight Time dates on Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000

This fix will work for Windows 2000 Eastern Time. On the other operating systems, I think it will work but you'll have to convert it to the older version of REGEDIT. Save the old registry entry before you try it. For other time zones you should be able to examine it and make a corresponding change of your own. If you can't, write to me and I'll help.

Here's the file to do it: etdates.bin
Download it and import it into Regedit.

After that, open the time dialog and change your time zone to some other one (and apply it) and then change it back to yours.

This works by modifying the following regristry key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Eastern Standard Time

If you look it over you'll see it changes the start month and week numbers from 4 1 to 3 2. It also changes the end month and week numbers from 10 5 to 11 1.
